Lampard's Future - Chelsea or Inter?

Frank is the top target for his ex-Chelsea boss Mourinho after Deco's £8m arrival at Stamford Bridge. Resolving the future of Lampard would be the second work Scolari has to do at the Bridge, the first being the signing of Deco. Scolari had hinted that no player will be a sure starter and if Lampard stays, we know why he said that.

Lampard was offered a 3 year contract but wants a 5 year contract instead and this is the root cause of his rift with Chelsea. There's every possibility that Mourinho will lure away Lampard. Atleast that was the story till yesterday. Today reports are pouring in saying that Lampard transfer might not happen this  summer. Mourinho himself is said to have told that it might take place within a year only. That's because in a year, Lampard will be free from the contract that keeps him at Chelsea. According to Jose, Chelsea might not want to sell Lampard now, before Scolari settles into his new job.

"This season? I don't think so. Why won't he? Well, it's not because we don't want him to but I'm sure Chelsea officials and Chelsea and don't want to sell him," stated Mourinho."However for the next season it will be easier for him to join me at Inter. I'm 100 percent sure in 2009/2010 he will be playing here." he added. Whether this is believable is a different thing.

If you aske me, I wouldn't want Lamps to go. Deco is surely more creative and even outshined Ronaldo in the Euro'08 for Portugal, but will he score 20plus goals consistantly every season like Frank? I don't think he will. But he will certaibly have the backing of Scolari, and is sure to suit the plans and style of the new manager. Considering that even Zola signed in his thirties and still became a legend for the club, Deco must be considered a good bargain, more so if Lampard leaves.

Lampard said that he would like to end his career playing at Stamford Bridge but then who knows...
Moreover its kind of strange to accommodate Lampard, Ballack and Deco in the same midfield

IS it only me or anyone else has heard about messi moving to chelsea?

@Bharath
As a Chelsea fan, that's my wish.

@comfortably numb:
That's why I have a feeling Frank will go, unless starting eleven is made 'starting 12' or something

I didn't hear anything about Messi. Barca would never sell Messi. They are shaping a new team around him. But I heard Robinho might be Chelsea's next target
