Scolari Appointment And Its Implications

Scolari's contract with Chelsea is worth £5.5 million a year. What makes me more happy is that rival fans are really not happy and comes up with stories about the ways in which Scolari could fail in his job. Scolari's appointment could have many implications and changes at the Bridge.

Scolari will bring his own set of assistants but Steve Clarke is likely to work under him. There are speculations that Deco might be Scolari's first signing, and in that case Lampard will move to re-unite with Mourinho at Inter. I like Deco, but them I like Lampard 100 times more and so wouldn't pray for such a thing to happen. But that's likely to happen because Lampard haven't signed a contract yet and Inter are looking forward to signing an attacking midfielder. And Mourinho rates Lampard highly.

But there are more good things Scolari will bring with him. Jose Bosingwa, Chelsea's new signing who currently plays right back for Portugal would certainly feel at home moving to Chelsea. Carvalho had expressed intentions of moving to some other club and is now surprised, and happy with Scolari's appointment. This might cause Carvalho to re-consider his decision. That's a very good thing because Carvalho is one of the best defenders in world right now.

It remains to be seen what Drogba decides after the new manager is appointed and also if someone like Quaresma or Robinnho, who have played under Scolari will come to the Bridge.
