ECA Opposes Restrictions on EPL Wealth

Finally someone talks something sensible after Platini and Blatter made us believe all men sitting in the top of footballing hierarchy have gone crazy. Rather than blame EPL, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, acting chairman of the ECA said that other league should learn from them. ECA was created to represent the best and wealthiest clubs from each of Europe's 53 football nations.

Rummenigge rejected comments made last month by UEFA president Michel Platini that a plan was needed to stop English clubs running up big debts while winning the lucrative Champions League competition. Rummenigge rejected comments made last month by UEFA president Michel Platini that a plan was needed to stop English clubs running up big debts while winning the lucrative Champions League competition.

The ECA was formed in January as the sole, independent body representing clubs as part of a peace deal between European governing body UEFA, world governing body FIFA and the G-14 group of 18 elite clubs which disbanded. Rummenigge is expected to be elected chairman of the ECA when its 103 members meet for the first time July 7-8 at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

What he makes sense because if EPL is spending money, then teams from Latin America and lesser leagues from other countries are dependent on this money as the main income to run their club. People like Platini believes French talent is wasted elsewhere and comes up with such stupid plans, when the real problem behind the French Club's not growing is the large tax they are made to pay in France. He believes something like 6+5 will make players to stay in their home leagues. Good work Mr.Rummenigge, for reminding us there are sane people are still out there.
