Chelsea Makes an Offer for Robinho

"Further to media reports, Chelsea Football Club can confirm we have made an offer to Real Madrid today (Thursday, August 7) for the transfer of Robinho." The Official Chelsea site made this announcement yesterday confirming that Chelsea has bid for Real Madrid winger Robinho. The possibility of Robinho arriving at the Bridge seemed less likely after Ronaldo decided to stay in Manchester and Sneijder got injured. But the confirmation by the Official site that a bid for Robinho has been made, adds another twist to the summer-long story.

Sky Sports News says that Chelsea have lodged a £19.7million bid for Real Madrid forward Robinho.Earlier this week, Kenyon had openly expressed the desire of the Club to sign the Brazilian winger. And Robinho, when asked about it, had refused to rule out the move. This could be Chelsea's last bid this summer and if the bid proves to be successful, we would see Samba magic at the Bridge soon.

Chelsea are understood to be thinking about an offer from Roma for their winger Florent Malouda, who has failed to make an impact after arriving from Lyon last summer for £13.5m  Roma need to replace Mancini, who was sold to Inter, and was at first interested in a loan deal for Malouda. If the Robinho bid succeeds, Malouda may find himself in the Italian capital next season. Meanwhile the Pompeys from south coast are still said to be interested in Wright-Phillips and Redknapp believes Wright-Phillips would be another expensive buy like Crouch.

Moving onto other news, the Blues, back in London after thrashing the Rossoneri, have started the training sessions as scheduled. And one guy who is missing the party is Salamon Kalou. Kalou is in the Olympic squad of Ivory Coast, who lost their first group game in the Olympics as Argentina secured a 2-1 win. Ivory Coast will go into their next game against Serbia on Sunday with no points.

This is/would be another transfer which would drag on and on.
I think Real should let go of this cheeky midfielder who is not so cheeky anymore,or at least after he returned from a few weeks on the sidelines. The dazzling footwork, the trickery gave way to excessive trickery and trying to do something extraordinary every time.We should just take the money his transfer provides and be happy with the squad that we have.
If he does come to Stamford Bridge, would he fit well into the side?He has Scolari who was Brazil's coach but I don't think Robinho was part of the team/squad then.If Robinho comes are we going to see the end of the crosses from the left from Ashley Cole which was the norm under Mourinho and more so under Grant?
Malouda would be better off in leaving than staying in this huge squad where making a mark would be a herculean task.
Robinho was unsettled in Real once they started pursuing Cristiano. Then with Scolari at Chelsea helm, naturally the club was interested in Robinho. And about Robinho fitting in the Chelsea squad, you should take into account the fact that under Jose, the wingers had no creative freedom towards the end of his reign, and Robben was injured most of the time and Joe Cole's form dropped. When Grant came Joe redeemed himself. With Scolari, there will be more flair and attacking football for sure.

So far, Malouda has failed to impress, and so a replacement is the logical thing to do. How could you argue that the coming of Robinho would stop Ashely Cole or Bridge going forward. They would continue their game regardless of whether it is Malouda or Robinho or Kalou in the left flank.
Don't you think that the 19.5m bid might be a little less than what Real may be expecting? They've just failed to get Ronaldo, so they wouldn't be too eager to sell him at this point of time.
But they have got Van der Vaart. That plus a nice sum of money would do the trick maybe. Anyway I agree the offer has to be higher than 19.5m. If Goal are to be believed Real wants 35m, and some other sources say verbally a deal of 24 is agreed. And Robinho really wants to move, even if it's against Real's wish. So, what goes around comes around, right?
