Weekend News Roundup

Chelsea
The week started well for Blues with the signing of Deco and most sites as well as blogs concentrated on the Deco signing and the implications it could have on the future of Lampard. Nick Benfield at ChelseaBlog, now hosted by Oleole[my profile] wrote about the Deco signing and it's followed by a large discussion in the comments section.

Jack at the Offside says how much he is happy with the new look of the Chelsea official website and how the flash it had previously was so frustrating. We agree with him on the fact that the site looks cleaner and easier to navigate now. Jack also discusses about Roman's takeover of Chelsea five years ago. He has also dug up an article that BBC featured during that time, July 2,2003 to be exact.

Tony at Festival of football comes up with a very funny article on Roman's intention to bid for Euro 2016. This article is a must read and hope Tony comes up with such funny articles more often. Meanwhile Tanuj writes about Ben Sahar's move to Pompey on loan. Football rumors comes up with all the Chelsea related rumors. He writes about Arshavin's move to Chelsea, Shevchenko's move to Sampordia, as well as another article about Chelsea's pursuit of Robinho.

Non-Chelsea
James Rydel wrote an article in Manchester United blog about how Ronaldo revisionists will eat humble pie if Ronaldo decides to stay in Old Trafford. Nate, the Liverpool fan wrote about the signing of Dossena and predicts that Liverpool may play 4-2-3-1 next season. It's a good long post and usually Nate's predictions regarding Liverpool are spot on, more than anyone else I've seen.

Red Ranter comes up with a great post showcasing his imagination in which he draws similarities between the Ronaldo-Madrid saga and the Lord of the Rings. Monica wrote about Mourinho's interest in Quaresma and Juventus' lack of interest in Miguel Veloso. The blog is a must read for Portuguese Chelsea fans, the fan category that will increase in number at a rapid rate I guess.'Starting Eleven' comes up with another Portugal article where he is disappointed about Carlos Queiroz being a managerial candidate. United fans would certainly agree.

Hi Aravind, Thanks for linking to my posts! I also like the new, quicker Chelsea site. Will you be watching the 5 pre-season games online?

I have to agree about that Chelsea website. The flash version was so annoying.

I myself had planned on posting something like this on FT, but couldn't find the time yesterday. Maybe next week. ;)

@Monica:
I surely plan to watch the matches online. Any suggestions?
@Nithin
There's lot of great pics as well in the new site. The good things is Lampard is still in the front page.
What were you busy with?

Lot's of things really... Catching up with the feeds on Google Reader, reading books and stuff like that. And a friend of mine tried tinkering with his computer yesterday and I had to run over to put out the fires. ;-) That took a while.

Btw, how do you watch matches online?

Hi Aravind,
Last season 2007-2008 it was easier because they played here in the US so it was on my local TV channel. The game against America of Mexico, and the MLS.

I'll see about this pre-season. It was on the front page of the Chelsea site, that's why I asked you. They'll be facing clubs that don't get my attention too much.
