Boxing Day

Playing Their 300th home match in the Premier League and looking to extend their unbeaten run to 72 at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea would certainly want to avenge their 2-0 loss at Villa Park. Grant says this match is not about any revenge, but we fans would certainly love to see a sweet revenge. Or will the Villans live upto their name, in their 300th away match in the League? Recent statistics demonstrate that Chelsea’s Boxing Day form is good, with just one defeat from their last five post-Christmas outings. I expect Chelsea to be play the same professional, monotonous game (thanks to Jose), but would like to see them a bit more attacking at home.

Having a third choice, 34-year old goalkeeper is nowhere near an ideal scenario. Cech is named in the team list but it remains to be seen if he is match fit. If not, Hilario would certainly miss Terry the most. I would like to see Bridge instead of Ashley Cole and Belleti for Ferreira because that would give Chelsea that attacking dimension. I don't think Ballack will be in the team for this match, because Grant would want him come back against weaker teams like Fulham or QPR. And maybe Pizzaro will be given the place he deserves in the forward line if Shevchenko fails to find his touch.

Lets pray Lampard strikes his 100th goal for the club at the Bridge, and Essien, my favorite player, score another one, and Shevchenko score one to get back in form, Mikel score one for a change, Kalou score............and....and.......and lets hope Villans like Agbonlahor, Young etc would be too tired to play after the late night Christmas celebrations.

Guess at the squad:
Hilario
Belleti, Alex, Carvalho, Ashely
Essein, Mikel, Lampard
Joe, Shevchenko, Kalou

subs: Cech, BenHaim, Bridge, SWP, Pizzaro

scoreline prediction: 2-0

What a match! 4-4! Excellent match if you aren't a fan, frustrating for fans I guess. Anyway I'm not complaining... Liverpool now only two points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. :)

Btw, where's the post match?
